Search warrants released in missing Vt couple case October 10, 2011 BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont judge has released search warrants in the investigation of a missing Essex couple. Currier ground search resumes  Essex, Vermont - October 25, 2011 The biggest ground search yet is underway for a missing Essex couple. As the leaves turn, the clues dwindle but the mystery remains. Four and-a-half months after Bill and Lorraine Currier vanished from their Colbert Street home, police still don't know what happened to them. "Very weird," agreed Todd Bushey, who lives across the street from the Curriers' home. Since his neighbors disappeared in June, he's beefed up security at his own home. Police dig for evidence in Currier case ESSEX, Vt. - For the first time in months, some new developments in the Bill and Lorraine Currier investigation. The Essex couple vanished last June, baffling investigators. But Thursday police were digging at a crime scene in Essex. Ten months after Bill and Lorraine Currier vanished from their Essex home, police say they have a new investigative lead that's led them to a lot off Route 15 in Essex. Neighbors of the missing Essex couple say it burns day and night months after their disappearance. "It's a little unsettling sitting on my living room couch every night and looking across the street to their house," said Pat Goddard, the missing couple's neighbor. Federal authorities say a very technical dig for evidence in the Currier case at a landfill in Coventry could take up to three weeks and bad weather may further delay that schedule. Investigators have suspect in murder of Curriers BURLINGTON, Vt. - Federal authorities say they have a suspect in the murder of an Essex couple. Thursday, WCAX News reported that investigators now consider the disappearance of Bill and Lorraine Currier to be a homicide. And now police believe they know who killed them. State and federal prosecutors announced their findings at a news conference in Burlington Friday morning. "The investigation has developed significant information that William and Lorraine Currier were abducted from their home and murdered shortly thereafter in June 2011. The person believed to have committed the murders is in custody in another state and will remain in custody. No charges have yet been brought against this person for the Curriers' murders, but charges are anticipated," said Tristram Coffin, the U.S. Attorney for Vermont. "Their murders were a random act of violence that occurred in our community. There is nothing the Curriers did in their personal lives that contributed to their deaths," Chittenden County Prosecutor T.J. I would love to know where this guy knew where the gun was that Lorraine had even to the fact of where there was no struggle. Everyone is saying that he did not know the Currier's but i have a feeling that he did! Maybe he has been stalking them. Maybe he broke into there home before he kidnapped them and had a look around. He had also Severed the Telephone cord, before taking the couple.
