Carnel Chamberlain Missing: 4-Year-Old Vanished From Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The mother of a 4-year-old boy reported missing from a mid-Michigan Indian reservation said Monday she is holding out hope that he'll be found safe as additional searches were planned. Jaimee Chamberlain, 21, told The Associated Press on Monday that her son, Carnel Chamberlain, was being cared for by her boyfriend at her home near Mount Pleasant when the child disappeared Thursday. She said when she got home from work that night, her boyfriend – who regularly spent time with her and the child – told her Carnel wasn't there. "I ran inside and looked around. I didn't know what to do," said Chamberlain, who went to a neighbor's home to see if she could find Carnel and then called police. After staying home during the early portion of the search at the request of police, Chamberlain said she has been joining those looking for her son. www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/25/carnel-chamberlain-missing-indian-reservation-michigan_n_1624821.html?utm_hp_ref=crime&icid=maing-grid10|htmlws-main-bb|dl5|sec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D173135#slide=1142286

Cadaver dogs join search for 4-year-old Michigan boy missing from Indian reservation Police cadaver dogs have joined the search for a 4-year-old boy reported missing last week from a Michigan Indian reservation. Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe spokesman Frank Cloutier said authorities planned to regroup on Monday after search teams, including the cadaver dogs and FBI agents, scoured a densely wooded area Sunday for Carnell Chamberlain off the reservation near Mount Pleasant. Cloutier said crews on Sunday also searched ponds at a wastewater treatment plant near the child's home, but nothing significant was found. The boy is a member of the tribe and was reported missing by his family around 10 p.m. Thursday night. The tribe has said the boy's disappearance was "suspicious." www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/25/cadaver-dogs-join-search-for-4-year-old-michigan-boy-missing-from-indian/?test=latestnews

Rescue workers search ponds for missing Mt. Pleasant boy by LISA YANICK-JONAITIS MARK RANZENBERGER Posted: 06/24/12 08:39 pm Updated: 06/24/12 08:43 pm Tribal Police and rescue workers searched a wastewater treatment pond visible from Carnel Chamberlain’s home on Tomah Road on Sunday while a crowd of spectators gathered to watch. Marcella Hadden, public relations manager from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, said the ponds were being searched to exhaust all locations the boy, who has been missing since Thursday, might be. Down the road, search efforts in a grid between Leaton and Shepherd roads were called off around 5:30 p.m. Search and rescue experts called the search because the area had been combed thoroughly. Snip Rumors swirled Sunday evening that Carnel had been found, but Hadden said that is not true. Search efforts continue. Snip The child’s mother, Jaimee Chamberlain, 21, said she had just gotten home from her job at Isabella’s restaurant at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Thursday when she learned that Carnel was missing. She looked around her yard, and “knew something happened” when he wasn’t near the house. FBI and Tribal investigators were talking to Jaimee Chamberlain’s boyfriend, who earlier had been described as being uncooperative with investigators. “He’s become somewhat more calm,” Cloutier said. No arrests have been made www.themorningsun.com/article...ger=full_story
