Kendall Co., TX: Female Remains found 3/6/10 along Guadalupe River

Human remains were discovered by a father and daughter along the Guadalupe River near Comfort on Saturday evening.
David Cheney and his daughter were riding in their ATV underneath the I-10 bridge when they spotted something white lying in a grassy area near the river. Upon taking a close look, they realized it was a human skull with two vertebrae.
Kendall County Sheriff’s Office was notified and found almost a complete skeleton after digging in the area where the skull was found.
Chief Deputy Matt King says based on the vegetation and soil in the area, it appears the remains have been there at least a few years. Deputies did recover dental remains and possible DNA evidence which could ultimately lead to an identification.
King does not believe the remains are connected to the 1987 flood when a school bus full of children was swept into the river and some were never recovered.
