Unknown female, probably in her late teens or early 20s
Victim: Unknown female, probably in her late teens or early 20s
Date/Location Found: In August 1986, a human skull was discovered in the area of Still Creek Road, about one mile south of Government Camp on Mt. Hood. At the time of this discovery, forensic investigators estimated the human skull may have been at this location for a long period of time -- potentially up to 10 years, possibly dating back to 1976.
Details: In March 2008, a forensic scientist with the Oregon State Police Forensic Crime Lab in Portland determined the skull is that of a young female, probably in her late teens or early 20s.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Homicide & Violent Crimes Unit (HVCU) took possession of this human skull in March 2008. At this time, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Forensic Artist Joyce Nagy began a forensic reconstruction of the skull, which was both challenging and difficult -- the skull was missing its jawbone and teeth. The Sheriff's Office has very limited information available to offer the public related to the discovery of this skull. However, with the release of the forensic data and forensic-reconstruction image, perhaps someone can come forward and provide investigators with a relevant tip.
